Select Wii No Ma from the database, ensure that the 'Version' box is empty (empty version means get latest version), select pack wad, and then start the download. Techboy said at 6:12 pm on Jul 11, 2010.
The guide now supports v4 and v5. You only need to run one of them, not both (unless you really want to combine them).
1. Start the NUS downloader. Be sure that Pack wad is NOT selected. Download the following files through the database:
Version 5
1. Start the NUS downloader. Be sure that Pack wad is NOT selected. Download the following files through the database:
2. Time to copy the files. You need to make the folders yourself.
1. Download the cIOS222 installer of your choice and extract it to the apps folder on the SD card/USB device
* Unplug ALL Gamecube memory cards and controllers.
2. Run the cIOS222/223 Installer with the HBC. Use IOS249 if it asks so. (If this doesn't work, you can try IOS236 if you have it installed)
We advise you to install the following IOSs with these merges:
The installer will quit after each install, so you'll have to choose it again from the HBC after each install.

The System Menu is software shipped pre-installed into every Wii which allows the launching of games from an officially Nintendo certified game disc, launching of Nintendo Certified channels and Virtual Console and WiiWare titles.
It plays a major role in the startup, shutdown, and transitions between system states; upon starting up, the System Menu's main() reads the following files:
Based on the things read by main() (as well as certain flags set in memory?), the menu can take the following actions:
On an un-modded system, it is the first thing a Wii user will see when s/he turns on his/her Wii having pressed 'A' at the Health and Safety screen. An X denotes that no version is available for the applicable region.
The disc-handling actions of the System Menu are governed by a complex state machine known as BS2.
Version
The version number can be found by clicking on the 'Wii' button in the System Menu, and then choosing 'Wii Settings'. The version number is displayed in the top right corner of the screen.
The version identifier consists of two parts: revision (version) number and the geographic region.
For example, 4.3EUR v514, denoted as '0x202, 0x20(32)' (in data) is the actual version and 2 the region EUR.

Homebrew Alternatives
With the development of BootMii, the idea of booting straight to Homebrew may soon become a reality. In light of this, there are a couple of projects out there to create a homebrew-friendly System Menu alternative, such as WiiMU.
